Who is Not Harsh as a Teacher
A Brahmana
is he who gives offence to none: Dhammapada (V408)
Who is not
harsh as a teacher
Words of
truth he does utter
Which are to
non offending
Such as him
do I call a Brahmin.
Who utters
speech instructive
True and
gentle too
Who gives
offence to none
That one I
call a Brahmin True.
His speech is
true. His words are well-meaning. Constructive and not harsh. By his words he
will not give offence to anyone. Nor will his words provoke people. Such a
person I declare a true Brahmina.
