ORDINATION CEREMONY AT SRI SUBODHA RETREAT CENTRE, AMBULUWAWA
The ordination ceremony of Ven. Dhamma Shanthi, took place recently at the Sri Subodha Yogashramaya, Ambuluwawa, Sri Lanka.
She was previously known as Miss Niluka Jayasinghe, aged 32 years, and lived in Melbourne, Australia with her parents,
Dr Neeta Jayasinghe and Dr Ranjith Jayasinghe. Ven. Dhamma Shanthi, who is a qualified lawyer, had worked in the area of Legal services for many years in Australia, before her ordination.
She was ordained under the direction and guidance of Most Ven. Wattegama Dhammawasa Nayaka Maha Thero, (The Chief Sanga Nayaka of Australia and the Central Province of Kandy) and also under the guidance of Ven. Nadimale Sudhamma, the Senior Nun at Sri Subodha Retreat Centre.
Her senior Dhamma Teacher, Most Ven. Madawala Punnajee Maha Thero was also present for the ceremony with many other senior monks and nuns from Sri Lanka and Australia.
