DHAMMA PEACE MONASTERY



Dhamma Peace Monastery 



 

 




On this Binara Poya day, the 27th of September, 2015, A Small Theravada Buddhist Monastery for the nuns was established and opened in Brisbane. This was inaugurated under the guidance of Most Ven. Wattegama Dhammawasa Nayaka Maha Thero, who is the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Lanka Buddhist Monastery of Brisbane and also the Chief Sanganayaka of Australia.The Venerable Maha Sanga chanted Pirith in order to bless the new premises and all those who attended.

The Buddha Statue was brought from Sri Lanka with great care and dedication by a couple of devotees who visited Queensland recently. We offer our gratitude and blessings to Ven. Nayaka Thero for all the Support that was given to establish this place. We also extend our blessings to the Venerable Sanga who attended and for their continuas support, Ven. Peramandiye Sunanda Thero from Sri Subodharamaya, Peradeniya who organised transportation from Sri Lanka, Mr. W. Sugathadasa for  taking care of overall organisation and also to Mr. Dharmapala for assisting with transport, the family who donated the statue, our committee members of the Sri Subodha Retreat Centre of Ambuluwawa, for supplying the name board and Stupa ornament, and to all other devotees who tirelessly supported this event in numerous ways.
